To any of you who might want to try to run Synopsys Common Licensing scl_11.3 on CentOS 5.8 (amd64) and get a nasty core dump, don’t waste time and install scl_11.2. Details:

First the error:
in scl_root/admin/logs/debug.log you get something like:

19:23:54 (lmgrd) snpslmd exited with status 0 signal = 17
19:23:54 (lmgrd) Please correct problem and restart daemons


and, when you run

$ /scl_11.3/amd64/bin/lmgrd -c /scl_11.3/admin/license/license.lic -l /scl_11.3/admin/logs/debug.log
